We aim for children to feel safe, stimulated and happy in the nursery and to feel secure and comfortable with all staff.
We support parents and other carers to help their children settle quickly and easily by giving consideration to the individual needs and circumstances of each child and their family.
We offer settling-in visits free of charge, carried out over a one or two-week period. Usually children require three visits before they can be left to attend a session. The first visit is for you and your child to get to know the room and the staff and play together. The second visit is for you to help settle your child in the room and leave them for half an hour but remain on the premises in case they become unsettled. The third settle is for you to drop your child off for an hour in the room on their own.
We allocate a key person to your child, before they start to attend. The key person welcomes and looks after your child, ensuring that their care is tailored to meet their individual needs. The key person offers a settled relationship for the child, and builds a relationship with you as parents during the settling-in period and throughout your child’s time at the nursery, to ensure you have a familiar contact to assist with the settling-in process.
