Protecting your child
The protection and safety of your child is our ultimate priority whilst they are here with us at one of the nurseries. This is why we have security measures and clear safeguarding policies in place to ensure your child’s experience at nursery is as safe and fun as possible. This also presents a great opportunity to teach the children through things such as fire drills.
Each nursery has CCTV on the premises to ensure the safety and security of all children at all times. The staff, parents and children’s wellbeing and safety is our priority, and we feel that this add’s additional protection and peace of mind.
How we keep your little one safe
We have a clear, comprehensive policy for safeguarding the children in our care, which is written in accordance with guidelines given by the Kent Safeguarding Children’s Board. This takes into account the latest research to ensure the children in our care are safe at all times. All of our wonderful staff are fully qualified and DBS checked.
Our staff and safeguarding
The Nursery Manager is the dedicated Safeguarding Lead and is supported by the Deputy Manager, alongside the Senior Management Team, in keeping all children in our care safe. The designated Safeguarding Leads work alongside the family and a variety of agencies to ensure that the welfare of your child is paramount.
Staff within our nurseries all have a thorough understanding of the safeguarding procedures in place and follow these within their daily practice. The nurseries are committed to supporting families and safeguarding is a priority for all staff at Townsend Montessori Nurseries.
Safeguarding is of high importance throughout each day at Townsend Montessori Nurseries. Staff will work alongside parents to ensure that documentation to support this is completed. Further information regarding these processes can be found within our Safeguarding Policy and Procedure and our Parent’s Pack.
We offer your child a secure environment in which to learn and develop, with staff ensuring their safety, security, and wellbeing at all times.
Each nursery is fitted with secure doors and windows, operated by an entry system. The main reception area is manned at all times by a member of Management, who ensures visitors are greeted on arrival. Parents are asked to provide details of those authorised to collect the child from nursery and staff will carry out checks to support this.
Children take part in regular fire drill and lockdown practices to ensure they are aware of the procedures to follow in the unlikely event of an incident occurring. This also teaches the children valuable lessons about fire safety and security.
