Margate Children's Nursery
The Margate children's nursery is our smallest one and has a very cosy home-from-home atmosphere.
3 months - 5 years
Our nursery in Margate is conveniently situated on Cowper Road (off Victoria Road), near Margate town centre. We have a large garden area with a climbing frame, sand and water play, planting area and trikes. There are three large, beautiful and bright classrooms. This is our smallest nursery and has a very cosy home-from-home atmosphere.
The nursery is open all year round Monday to Friday and takes children from 3 months up to 5 years. We offer a variety of sessions to meet your requirements, and funded places for 2–5 year olds subject to certain criteria.
The nursery opened in 2012. It was rated Good in all areas by Ofsted with Outstanding elements in October 2016. The nursery and team of staff are now working towards achieving Outstanding.
All babies and children make good progress in their learning and development. They are active learners who are inquisitive and motivated to learn. (Ofsted)
The nursery has a Babies Room, Twos Room and a Pre-school Room. We are lucky to have a large and exciting garden for the children to play in. The children take part in weekly extracurricular activities carried out by professionals including yoga, dance, football and singing sessions.
Our team of staff are very well qualified and expand their knowledge by attending regular training courses. All staff are trained in paediatric first aid.
Children love playing in our large and exciting garden.
Age range: 3 months to 2.5 years
The Lion Cubs Room is on the ground floor of the nursery. There is a beautiful black and white area for young babies, nappy change, and a toilet area to aid with toilet training. Toddlers have an exciting range of activities to choose from and explore. A separate sleep room ensures babies can rest without being disturbed. Staff will check sleeping children every 10 minutes.
Age range: 2–3 years
This room is located on the ground floor and has windows that look out onto the garden, allowing lots of natural light into the room. The two year olds are kept busy with exciting activities planned by staff and are also encouraged to select their own toys from the low-level shelves. The nearby toilets and baby change allow for easy toilet training.

My child has developed very well since being here. Staff are extremely friendly and support all pupils well. It's just a very lovely place.
Teddy really enjoys seeing the staff and is very eager to come to nursery. His development has come on leaps and bounds. The staff are really pleasant and welcoming.
I have been working for the company for nine years and have worked in three of its nurseries. I started as a Nursery Assistant and then gained my Level 3 NVQ to become a Nursery Nurse. I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to train as a Montessori Directress and then progress to Deputy Manager and now to Manager.
I decided to go into childcare when my daughter went from nursery to school. I enjoyed watching her grow and develop so much during her pre-school years that I wanted to be part of this for my career.
I enjoy working for Townsend Montessori Nurseries and getting to know all the children and their families. It's lovely to watch the children grow, develop and transition to school, confident in new skills and independence.
I have been working with Townsend Montessori Nursery for nine years. I have worked as Nursery Nurse, Senior Nursery Nurse, Room Supervisor, Deputy Manager & Nursery Manager.
I chose to work in childcare because I am passionate about providing children with the best start in their early education, by providing them with a fun and stimulating environment which allows them to thrive in their abilities.
Townsend Montessori Nurseries provide a high-quality level of care for the children, parents and staff and I enjoy being a part of the company.
