Our nursery in Herne Bay is conveniently situated on Beaumont Street, near Hampton Primary School. We have a lovely garden area with a climbing frame, sand and water play, a planting area and separate baby garden. There are two large, beautiful and bright classrooms. It is the perfect location for parents who live in Canterbury and Whitstable, as well as Herne Bay!
The nursery is open all year round Monday to Friday and takes children from 3 months up to 5 years old. We offer a variety of sessions to meet your requirements and funded places for 2–5 year olds subject to certain criteria. We have an Under Twos Room and a Pre-school Room.
The nursery offers many fun and exciting activities including weekly yoga, dance, football and singing sessions carried out by professionals.
Having well-trained and qualified staff will ensure that our Herne Bay nursery will be of the same high standard as our other nurseries.
Children love playing in our large and exciting garden.
We have a parent drop-off and pick-up area for your convenience.

The Hedgehogs Room is a large, bright and spacious classroom, located on the ground floor, overlooking the garden. We have a separate Montessori area, arts and craft area, sand and water play, construction and role play area. There is a door to the garden so children can easily access outdoor play when they wish.
The classroom has a toilet block, with low-level sinks and toilets to develop the children’s independence. Children are taken outside to the garden to play twice a day.

The garden is separated into four areas: the forest class, baby garden, main garden and sheltered free-flow from the Pre-school Room.
I have worked for Townsend Montessori Nurseries for around 13 years, starting my journey at Port Regis, as a nursery nurse in the Twos Room, before becoming a Deputy Supervisor in the Babies Room. After a year or so, I became Supervisor of their very successful Babies Room, then Deputy Manager of the nursery. Not long after, I was asked to become Manager. Eventually, I was asked to open a brand-new nursery in Maidstone, where I spent a year building the nursery up, and shortly went on to have my own baby.
After taking a year out, I decided that I would like to return to work and am now Manager of the Herne Bay nursery. I like working for Townsend Montessori as it has helped me progress even whilst starting a family. Townsend Montessori have helped me gain experience in every aspect of childcare and in providing a caring, stimulating environment for all children.
I have worked in childcare for over 10 years and have been working for Townsend for just over a year. I started off at the Ramsgate nursery, where I gained a lot of my knowledge, before coming across to Herne Bay.
I have always enjoyed working with children and their families and am learning new parts to my role each day .
