Faversham Children’s Nursery
Our fabulous Faversham nursery which opened in 2011 has four large, beautiful, and bright classrooms all on the ground floor with a large and exciting garden for the children to play in. We have a Forest School behind the nursery that the children adore and visit on a daily basis via a secure walkway. Time spent in the Forest School helps children grow in confidence along with improving their physical and emotional well-being.

What makes this nursery unique?
About this nursery
Our Faversham nursery opened in 2011 and is conveniently situated in the Eurocentre Business Park on Jubilee Way (off Whitstable Road) near Faversham town centre.
We have a large garden area with a climbing frame, sand and water play, a planting area and separate baby garden. The children are always busy taking part in fun and exciting activities. The nursery is fully air-conditioned to ensure that the children are cared for at the perfect temperature.
We also offer weekly yoga, dance, football, Musical Bumps and singing sessions, carried out by professionals.
We were rated “Good” in all areas by Ofsted in May 2018. The nursery and staff team are now working towards achieving Outstanding in all areas.
“Staff are sensitive and caring and children happily seek staff’s company in their play or if they need a reassuring cuddle. Parents comment that their children receive ‘brilliant’ care.” – Ofsted

Forest class
Children love learning and exploring outdoors, and our forest class creates a fun and exciting environment for them to learn about nature and start to use basic tools in a safe and controlled way.
Highly qualified staff
We have a dedicated Montessori Teacher and Qualified Teacher that carries out individual and small group activities with the children. All of our staff are qualified in childcare from NVQ 2 up to Degree level and beyond.

Our chain
As part of a group of nurseries, we have a dedicated network of support and expertise which is shared across all of our locations. In addition, being a family owned business ensures that there is a loving and caring family ethos to all of our nurseries.
Extra curricular activities
We have a team of professionals that carry out our selection of extra curricular activities on a weekly basis. These include:
- Tennis
- Multi-Sports
- Yoga
Buttercups Room: 3 – 18 months
The Buttercups room is light and spacious, a cosy home from home environment for young babies. Within the room there is an area where the children eat their meals and another where they can carry out messy play activities. The other end of the room is a cosy area full of exciting things for the babies to explore.
There is also a separate nappy change area and a separate sleep room, equipped with cots and small beds. Sleeping children are checked every 10 minutes by a member of staff.

Bluebells room: 18 months – 2 years
Toddlers are cared for in the large, bright, and spacious Bluebells Room – the children love looking out of the large windows. Within the room there is a nappy change area and our Bluebells also have use of the sleep room, where they are checked every 10 minutes while they sleep. The toddlers have access to outdoor play twice a day.
Poppies Room: 2 – 3 years
Our Poppies Room for two year olds is large with plenty of natural light. The room is divided into fun and exciting areas for the children with lots for them to do and explore. The nearby toilet block ensures that children are well supported with toilet training.

Daisies room: 3 – 5 years
The Daisies Room is a large, bright, and spacious classroom full of fun, creative, and interesting activities for our preschoolers. We have a separate Montessori Teaching area, an arts and crafts area, sand and water play, a construction area, and a role-play area. There is a door to the garden, so children can easily access outdoor play when they wish and they are taken out to play twice a day. The classroom also has a toilet block with low-level sinks and toilets to encourage and develop their independence. The children also have regular access to the Forest School.
The Faversham management team

Jemma Silvester
I started my career in childcare over eight years ago as a nursery apprentice working my way up as I completed my qualifications resulting in a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Education and Care. I am passionate about early childhood as the opportunities that the children have now build foundations for their future wellbeing and learning. I strongly believe in children’s exploratory play and engaging them with the outdoors as risky play from which children can promote their own independence and critical thinking.

Kirsty Mercer
I have worked in childcare for seven years, five of those being at Faversham Montessori. I started as a nursery nurse and I've worked my way up to assistant manager. I have experience working with all ages and have been supervisor of two's and preschool. I have always wanted to work in childcare and have a passion for helping children learn and develop. I enjoy working for Townsend Montessori because we have such a supportive and friendly team and we provide a range of fun activities for all the children.
